Fall of 2005 Palm Beach County Workforce Housing Survey (click to open PDF)

The Realtors® Association of the Palm Beaches commissioned a Countywide survey to gage the public's opinion on housing issues and various programmatic solutions.  The survey shows that citizens of Palm Beach County think that the lack of attainable housing is an important issue. 

 

2005 National Housing Opportunity Pulse (click to view)
Two out of three Americans are so concerned about the cost of housing in their communities that they would be more likely to vote for a candidate who works to make housing more affordable, according to the second National Housing Opportunity Pulse, a survey released by the National Association of Realtors® (NAR).

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's report illustrating ways to remove regulatory barriers to development of housing.  The report states that exclusionary, discriminatory, or unnecessary regulations increase development costs by up to 35 percent.


Review of Research on the Effects of Federally Assisted Housing Programs on Neighboring Residential Property Values

This report, commissioned by NAR, explores the fundamental questions at the heart of the housing opportunity controversy: Does federally-assisted housing of various types cause negative impacts on neighboring residential property values? Do impacts vary across different sorts of neighborhoods? How does the spatial concentration of assisted housing or the scale of the facility affect impacts?
